The invention discloses a wrapping belt tensioning device for suspension bridge main cable protection. The wrapping belt tensioning device comprises a positioning shaft and a positioning cylinder sleeving the positioning shaft, wherein an annular groove is formed in one end part of the positioning cylinder; after the positioning cylinder sleeves the positioning shaft, the annular groove is positioned on one side of a threaded section of the positioning shaft; a bearing and a spring are sequentially mounted on one side of the threaded section of the positioning shaft, and then a nut is screwedon the side of the threaded section of the positioning shaft; a pressing assembly pressed against the other end part of the positioning cylinder is mounted on one side of a non-threaded section of thepositioning shaft; a first connecting rod is mounted at the end part of one side of the threaded section of the positioning shaft; and a first connector, a torque sensor and a second connector are sequentially mounted on one side of the non-threaded section of the positioning shaft, and then a second connecting rod is mounted on the side of the non-threaded section of the positioning shaft. The wrapping belt tensioning device has the advantages that the magnitude of tensioning force can be intuitively judged, and timely adjustment is performed according to the magnitude of the tensioning force, so that the production efficiency is greatly improved, and the stability is very good; therefore, the wrapping belt quality is effectively guaranteed; a friction plate is arranged, so that the friction coefficient is increased, and the wrapping belt tensioning device is convenient to replace and convenient for later maintenance.
