The invention discloses a large-lattice protective unit used for a water side slope. The unit adopts a rectangular frame structure, and is provided with four rods with rectangular sections, wherein the rod parts are prefabricated rod parts; long waist holes which extend in a width direction are formed in the prefabricated rod parts; the two prefabricated rod parts which are mutually connected areconnected through an angular part connecting block; a tenon is arranged on each of four side surfaces of a square; the two ends of each prefabricated rod part are each provided with a mortise which isfitted to the tenon. The invention further discloses an assembly type large-size ecological water side slope protective structure adopting the large-lattice protective unit. Compared with an integralprefabricated type large-lattice protective structure of the same size, the large-lattice protective unit has the advantages that planting soil containing amount, a water-soil retention condition anda planet growth condition are consistent under the same condition; and the large-lattice protective unit adopts a split mortise and tenon joint splicing structure, and single component is small in weight, so that construction is convenient.
