The invention provides a composite decorative plate and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of building materials. The composite decorative plate comprises a first decorative panel,a second decorative panel and a heat preservation plate located between the first decorative panel and the second decorative panel; and the heat preservation plate is integrally connected with the first decorative panel and the second decorative panel correspondingly. By means of the composite decorative plate, the problems that an existing composite decorative plate is prone to deformation, andthe fireproof performance is poor due to the fact that a binding agent is used as a binding material can be solved.
