The invention belongs to the field of refractory materials. The invention provides a hydration-resistant magnesium-calcium tundish coating. The hydration-resistant magnesium-calcium tundish coating comprises the following components in parts by weight: 5-73 parts of dead burned magnesia particles, 20-88 parts of a calcium raw material, 1.1 to 1.3 parts of fibers, 3-5 parts of a nano binding agent,0.05 to 1 part of an organic plasticizer, 0.1 to 0.3 part of an explosion-proof agent and 1-2 parts of a water reducing agent. The invention further provides a preparation method of the hydration-resistant magnesium-calcium tundish coating. The organic plasticizer disclosed by the invention is beneficial to improving the plasticity and viscosity of the material and ensuring the construction performance of the coating, and does not fall off in the construction process, by compounding the fibers and the explosion-proof agent, capillary exhaust holes can be formed in the coating, so that the magnesium-calcium coating does not bulge when gas released by decomposition of water vapor and calcium raw materials is exhausted in the curing process, and does not collapse, peel off and the like in the quick baking process.
