The invention discloses a high-strength desulfurized gypsum building block and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials. The preparation method of the high-strength desulfurized gypsum building block comprises the following steps: (1) respectively grinding desulfurized building gypsum, steel slag, fly ash and slag, and controlling the particle size ofgrinding particles to be within a certain numerical value; (2) stir-frying the ground desulfurized building gypsum in a boiling and pressing kettle, and stirring while stir-frying; and (3) adding liquid paraffin into a water bath kettle, heating, adding an emulsifier into the heated liquid paraffin water bath kettle according to a ratio of 7: 23: 70, mixing, heating to melt, adding hot water withthe same temperature, uniformly stirring, carrying out thermal insulation cooling according to a preset time, and cooling to obtain the paraffin emulsion. The raw materials can be proportioned according to the characteristics of the desulfurized building gypsum, and the mechanical properties of the building block are improved in a targeted manner. By adding the paraffin emulsion, a layer of compact protective film is formed on the outer surface layer of the building block to resist the invasion of water.
