The invention relates to the field of expressways, in particular to a height limiting system, a height limiting device and a control method. The height limiting system comprises a height limiting device, a first wireless terminal and a second wireless terminal, wherein the height limiting device is used for generating a light curtain and sending out a trigger signal, the first wireless terminal isused for transferring the trigger signal, and the second wireless terminal is used for receiving the trigger signal; a light curtain emitted by the height limiting device forms a metal height limiting rod similar to that in the prior art, so that the effect of prompting a driver of the height limiting requirement at night is achieved. After the height limiting system provided by the embodiment ofthe invention is closed and used, the ETC gateway which originally limits the height of the vehicle is converted into the ETC gateway which does not limit the height of the vehicle, so that the traffic capacity of the ETC gateway is adjusted, and the use efficiency of the ETC gateway is improved.
