The invention discloses a height limiting device, which comprises a first supporting rod, a mounting frame, a movable rod, a first driving source, a first distance sensor and an alarm, and is characterized in that the first supporting rod is arranged on a road close to the side; one end of the mounting frame is connected with the top of the first supporting rod; the movable rod can obliquely move upwards along the mounting frame; the first driving source is used for driving the movable rod to obliquely move upwards in the vehicle advancing direction along the mounting frame; the first distance sensor is located on one side of a vehicle coming side of the mounting frame, and when the first distance sensor detects an over-high vehicle, the first driving source is started and drives the movable rod to move upwards; the plurality of alarms are uniformly arranged on the mounting rack at intervals in the front-back direction, all the alarms are controlled by the same starting switch, the starting switch is arranged on the mounting rack, and when the movable rod moves upwards, the switches of all the alarms can be triggered to be started. According to the height limiting device, the situation of rod punching can be effectively avoided, so that damage to a vehicle is reduced, and property and personnel safety is improved.
