The invention discloses a gypsum board with an improved humidifying function. The gypsum board is prepared from 70-95 parts by weight of gypsum, 1-10 parts by weight of zeolite, 1-5 parts by weight ofdiatomite, 1-5 parts by weight of calcium carbonate, 1-10 parts by weight of silica sol aqueous solution and 0.3-1.0 part by weight of binder. The invention further provides a preparation method of the gypsum board. The moisture absorption performance and the moisture releasing performance of the gypsum board are improved; the qualified gypsum plaster board is prepared from desulfurized gypsum with high impurity ion content; and meanwhile, the problems that the gypsum plaster board prepared from desulfurized gypsum with high impurity ion content is easy to cause adhesion of surface protectionpaper and a board core, alkali return is easy to occur on the surface of the gypsum board and the like are solved.
