The gate locking device comprises a base frame and a locking assembly, the base frame is used for being installed on a gate pier, a gate groove for the gate to move up and down is formed in the gate pier, the locking assembly comprises a rotating shaft, a locking beam and a balancing weight, the rotating shaft is rotationally arranged on the base frame, the locking beam is connected to the rotating shaft, the locking beam is provided with a first position extending to the gate groove and locking a gate and a second position exiting from the gate groove and unlocking the gate, the locking beam rotates upwards from the first position and can reach the second position, moment generated by the gravity of the locking beam to the rotating shaft is the first moment, the balancing weight is connected to the rotating shaft, moment generated by gravity of the balancing weight to the rotating shaft is a second moment, when the locking beam is located at the first position, the direction of the first moment is opposite to that of the second moment, and the first moment is larger than the second moment. The gate locking device with the structure is small in occupied space and can be conveniently installed in a limited space of the gate pier.
