The invention discloses a far infrared ceramic tile and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) a green brick with the surface having a concave-convex effect is formed, and protrusions are evenly distributed on the surface of the green brick at equal intervals, wherein the distances between the protrusions are integral multiples of the wavelength offar infrared light waves; (2) cover glaze is applied to the surface of the green brick, and ink-jet printing of a pattern is carried out; (3) protective glaze is applied to the surface of the green brick subjected to ink-jet printing of the pattern; and (4) far-infrared dry particles are applied to the surface of the green brick after the protective glaze is applied, and finally firing is performed to obtain the far-infrared ceramic tile. According to the preparation method, a glaze layer can be prevented from covering the far infrared material, the emission area is increased, and the emissivity is improved.
