The invention discloses a masonry mortar and a preparation method thereof. The masonry mortar comprises following components in parts by weight: 1 to 5 parts of modified waste paper fiber-titanium dioxide composite material with a nano hollow structure, 15 to 55 parts of cement, 30 to 80 parts of graded sand, 0 to 8 parts of mineral admixture, 0.5 to 5 parts of a water-retaining thickening material and 1 to 3 parts of a water reducing agent. The invention also discloses a preparation method of the masonry mortar. Through the crack bridging effect of modified waste paper fibers, early shrinkageis slowed down, and the volume stability is improved. The masonry mortar also has the advantages of light self-weight, excellent impermeability and increased compression-bending ratio, and the toughness of the mortar is improved. Water in the modified waste paper fibers is released, so that hydration of cement in the later period is promoted. In addition, the anti-seepage performance is good, andthe masonry motor also has a soundproof effect.
