The invention provides a pumped-storage power station constructed through a conventional hydropower station resource. A reservoir dam is arranged at an outlet of a conventional hydropower station reservoir, and an upper reservoir of the pumped-storage power station is composed of the conventional hydropower station reservoir via a first box dam and a reservoir dam fence; a water outlet of the conventional hydropower station reservoir communicates with a water inlet of a unit in a conventional hydropower station plant through a first water diversion pipe, and a water outlet of the upper reservoir of the pumped-storage power station communicates with a pumped-storage unit in a pumped-storage power station plant through a second water diversion pipe; and a water outlet of the pumped-storage unit in the pumped-storage power station plant and a water outlet of the unit in the conventional hydropower station plant communicate with a conventional hydropower station tailrace channel, and a lower reservoir of the pumped-storage power station is composed of the conventional hydropower station tailrace channel via a second box dam fence. The pumped-storage power station is simple in structure, novel and unique in design, simple in survey and planning site selection, easy to construct and implement, short in construction period, low in construction cost and capable of effectively improvingthe system peak-adjusting and frequency-adjusting capacity, and has remarkable social and economical benefits.
