The invention discloses a pile driver for building construction. The pile driver for building construction comprises a base, through holes formed in the base, a hydraulic box arranged above the base,four hydraulic lifting rods penetrating through the base, a pile driving assembly arranged at the tops of the hydraulic lifting rods, a pile pulling assembly arranged on the hydraulic lifting rods, and a striking assembly arranged above the base; and the pile pulling assembly comprises two lifting blocks penetrating through two of the hydraulic lifting rods, clamps arranged on the two lifting blocks respectively, and hydraulic telescopic rods arranged in the through holes and penetrating through the lifting blocks, wherein a cylindrical hole is formed in the middle of each lifting block, and the size thereof is the same as the size of each through hole. According to the pile driver, the pile pulling assembly is arranged, a pile which cannot be driven can be directly pulled out during piledriving, the complicated process of removing the pile driver and then pulling out the pile is avoided, the using function of the pile driver is expanded, and the working efficiency is improved.
