The invention discloses application of ash calcium powder, and anti-crack gypsum mortar. The application of the ash calcium powder is that the ash calcium powder is used as an anti-cracking componentof gypsum mortar, wherein the setting time of the gypsum mortar is more than or equal to 30 minutes, and the mass ratio of the use amount of the ash calcium powder to the use amount of the semi-hydrated gypsum powder in the gypsum mortar raw material is (0.05-5.0):100. The invention further provides anti-crack gypsum mortar, which comprises ash calcium powder, semi-hydrated gypsum powder and a gypsum retarder, wherein the use amount of the retarder enables the setting time of the gypsum mortar to be longer than or equal to 30 min. In the gypsum mortar disclosed by the invention, the ash calcium powder can adsorb free water in the gypsum mortar and enable the surface bleeding rate to be greater than the evaporation rate, so that an anti-cracking effect is achieved, and plastic cracking of the gypsum mortar can be effectively inhibited.
