The invention discloses a hydrophobic cement board and a preparation method thereof. The cement board comprises cement, quartz particles, a coupling agent, a water repellent and water, and the quartzparticles are modified by the coupling agent and the water repellent to prepare modified quartz particles. The method comprises the following steps: (1) uniformly mixing the coupling agent, the waterrepellent, quartz particles and water, and drying to obtain the modified quartz particles; (2) uniformly mixing cement and water to prepare a cement mixture, adding the modified quartz particles intothe cement mixture, and uniformly mixing to prepare mixture particles; and (3) carrying out compression molding on the mixture particles, and curing to obtain the finished product. The cement board provided by the invention has a good hydrophobic effect and good strength. The method provided by the invention can be used for mass production to obtain the cement board with good hydrophobic effect and high strength.
