The invention provides a ceramic material and a preparation method thereof. The ceramic material is prepared from ceramic powder, a filler, deionized water, a dispersing agent and an adhesive, and thefiller is prepared from titanium nitride and/or titanium carbide nano powder; the mass percent of the filler in the ceramic material is 1-3%, and the solid content of the ceramic powder in the ceramic material is 10-65%. By means of the mode, titanium oxide with finer particles can be generated in the ceramic material, the titanium oxide is more evenly distributed in the ceramic material, the chemical activity is higher, and the ceramic material has excellent sterilization and disinfection effects.
