The invention relates to a Wulong colorful twisted pottery clay material and a method for manufacturing pottery by using the same. The pottery clay for preparing the colorful twisted pottery clay material is produced from Wulong district Baimazhen in Chongqing, and comprises seven colors of pottery clay, namely red soil, loess, lime soil, carclazyte, green soil, blue soil and black soil. The preparation method of the Wulong colorful twisted pottery clay material includes: adding water into screened red soil, loess, green soil, lime soil, blue soil, black soil and carclazyte which are not lessthan 200 meshes respectively to prepare red mud, yellow mud, lime mud, white mud, green mud, blue mud and black mud, and kneading 38-42% of red mud, 8-9% of yellow mud, 3-6% of lime mud, 30-32% of white mud, 3-5% of green mud, 2-4% of blue mud and 9-13% of black mud by mass, or extruding and twisting the substances together so as to obtain the Wulong colorful twisted pottery clay material. Seven colors of Chongqing Wulong pottery clay which is suitable for firing pottery and can form exquisite ornamentation are screened out, the unique colorful twisted pottery clay material is prepared, the pottery which is gorgeous in color and exquisite in ornamentation can be fired, layering and cracking during firing can be effectively prevented, and the rate of finished products is high.
