The invention discloses a polymer cement waterproof coating and a preparation method thereof, the polymer cement waterproof coating comprises a component A and a component B, the mass ratio of the component A to the component B is 1:0.7-1:1.5; wherein the component A comprises the following components by mass: 70-95 parts of a modified emulsion and 5-30 parts of water; the component B comprises the following components by mass: 55-65 parts of cement, 30-40 parts of quartz sand and 2-5 parts of active master batch; the preparation method specifically comprises the following steps of: (1) uniformly mixing the modified emulsion and water in a reaction container to obtain the component A; (2) adding cement, quartz sand and the active master batch into stirring equipment, and uniformly mixing the substances to obtain the component B; and (3) uniformly mixing the component A and the component B according to the mass ratio to obtain the polymer cement waterproof coating. The preparation method is simple, the prepared coating is short in drying time, high in bonding strength and good in high-low temperature performance, and fine cracks generated in the using process of the coating can be automatically repaired.
