The invention discloses a tamping device for building construction. The tamping device comprises a thickened tamping plate and a tamping machine base, the tamping machine base is arranged at the upperend of the thickened tamping plate, a damping rubber sleeve is arranged at the upper end of the tamping machine base, a damping block is arranged at the upper end of the damping rubber sleeve, a tamping machine frame is arranged at the upper end of the damping block, a tamping body is arranged at the upper end of the tamping machine frame, a tamping machine handrail is arranged on the upper sideof the tamping body, a motor is arranged at the right end of the tamping body, telescopic devices are arranged at the lower end of the right side of the tamping machine handrail, and the telescopic devices comprise inner sleeve rods, fixing holes, fixing screws, U-shaped sleeve rods and moving wheels. According to the tamping device, a machine can be carried by a construction worker through the moving wheels on the telescopic device, so that carrying and lifting by two construction workers is avoided, and only one construction worker can directly operate the machine; and the construction worker pushes the moving wheels on the telescopic devices to move through the tamping machine handrail, so that the situation that multiple construction workers need to use one tamping device during work is avoided.
