The invention discloses an automatic window closing method which is applied to an automobile. The automatic window closing method comprises the following steps: when a power-off signal of the automobile is captured, acquiring the states of all automobile windows, if any one of the automobile windows is in an open state, sending a first timing request, and executing first timing of first preset time; continuously acquiring weather information in the first timing period, and judging whether the weather information is rainy or not; and if yes, stopping the first timing, sending out a window closing instruction, and controlling all the automobile windows to be closed. After the automobile is shut down, the state of the automobile windows can be obtained at the first time, if any one of the automobile windows is not closed, the automatic window closing mode is started, and when it rains, the automobile windows can be controlled to be closed, and automatic window closing is achieved. The invention further discloses an automatic window closing system.
