The invention provides a vehicle window automatic closing method and system. The method comprises the steps that a vehicle body controller judges whether a vehicle is in a flameout state or not according to working state information; when the vehicle is in a flameout state, the vehicle body controller judges whether a vehicle window on the vehicle is in a closed state or not according to the vehicle window information, and if the vehicle window which is not closed exists, the rainfall sensor detects rainfall according to a preset frequency; when the vehicle body controller receives a rainfall signal detected by the rainfall sensor, the vehicle window controller outputs a vehicle window closing instruction; and the car window controller closes the car window which is not closed according to the car window closing instruction. According to the car window automatic closing method and system, the storage battery is directly connected with the rainfall sensor, and the situation that the rainfall sensor is connected with the storage battery through an ignition switch, and consequently work of the rainfall sensor is limited by power failure of the ignition switch is avoided. Automatic closing of the vehicle window in the flameout state of the vehicle is achieved, and the technical problem that in the prior art, the vehicle window cannot be automatically closed in the flameout and power-off state of the vehicle is solved.
