The invention relates to a wire detection device and an intelligent telegraph pole. The wire detection device comprises a mounting box, a camera shooting unit, a processing unit and a current detection unit. A voltage reduction circuit and a rectification circuit are arranged in the processing unit and used for transmitting the detected electric energy in the electric wire to the processing unit,the camera shooting unit and the current detection unit. The current detection unit detects the current in the electric wire and generates current data, and the camera shooting unit shoots images andgenerates image data; and the processing unit generates corresponding signals according to the current data and the image data and outputs the signals. Working personnel can conveniently know the abnormity of the electric wire in time, so that corresponding measures are taken to handle the electric wire in time. The device has the advantages of being high in power transmission stability and high in automation degree.
