The invention relates to the field of bridge engineering, and discloses a traction device of a parallel steel strand stay cable and a traction method of the traction device. A center steel wire protruding out of the end face of a steel strand is arranged at one end of the steel strand, and a limiting block is arranged at the end of the center steel wire; the traction device comprises a first connecting sleeve, a second connecting sleeve and a traction winch; the first end of the first connecting sleeve is connected with a steel wire rope on the traction winch, the second connecting sleeve comprises a connector and a sheath, the sheath is provided with a through hole allowing the central steel wire to penetrate through, the side face of the first end of the connector is provided with an open groove allowing the central steel wire to be placed, the connector is provided with a positioning groove used for containing a limiting block, and the positioning groove is communicated with the open groove; the sheath is connected with the first end of the connector, and the second end of the connector is connected with the second end of the first connecting sleeve. According to the invention,a single steel strand can be dragged quickly and easily, a plurality of steel strands can accurately penetrate into correct anchor holes, and the situation of dislocation of the steel strands can be avoided.
