The invention discloses a water permeable brick and a preparation process thereof, and relates to the technical field of water permeable bricks. The water permeable brick comprises the following components by weight: 40-50 parts of cement, 120-150 parts of stone, 12-15 parts of water, 3-5 parts of a mineral admixture and 1-3 parts of a water permeable binder. The specific preparation process of the water permeable brick comprises the following steps of: (1) raw material preparation; (2) raw material proportioning; (3) mixing and stirring; (4) base material preparing; (5) compression molding; and (6) maintaining. According to the invention, the water permeable binder is added in the proportion, so that the binding capacity among the components can be improved, the strength and water permeability of the water permeable brick can be improved, and the compressive strength, breaking strength and frost resistance of the water permeable brick can be improved. The preparation process is simple, the cost is low, the compressive strength of the prepared water permeable brick can reach 30-50 MPa, the breaking strength can reach 4-6 MPa, the water permeability coefficient is 1-20 mm/s, and thewater permeable brick has the advantages of being high in compressive strength, good in breaking resistance, high in water permeability and long in service life.
