The invention relates to a prefabricated substation construction method. The method uses positioning and placing equipment, and the positioning and placing equipment comprises a movable base, a fixedframe, a positioning device and an adjusting device. The prefabricated substation construction method using the above positioning and placing equipment particularly comprises the following steps of laying basic section steel, laying a grounding grid, carrying a transformer, mounting the transformer and terminating a cable. The positioning and placing equipment can play a role in supporting and positioning the transformer, can finely adjust the position of the transformer according to actual needs, and can put down the transformer in sections after moving to a specified position, so that the situation that the transformer is damaged due to overlarge impact force after being put down once is avoided, the transformer can be continuously guided in a putting-down process, and errors between anactual placement position and a designed placement position of the transformer are avoided.
