An asphalt finisher (100) comprises: a tractor (1); a screed (3); a screw (SC) that is disposed in front of the screed (3); a retaining plate (41) that is disposed in front of the screw (SC) and thatis mounted to the tractor (1); a support rod (B1) that is disposed between the tractor (1) and the retaining plate (41) at the front of the retaining plate (41); an extension retaining plate (42) thatis mounted on the retaining plate (41) so as to rotate freely; and a support rod (B2) that is disposed between the tractor (1) and the extension retaining plate (42) at the front of the extension retaining plate (42).
