The invention discloses a socket and spigot type steel pipe scaffold and a construction method thereof. The technical problems that an existing scaffold is poor in flexibility, low in precision, longin construction period, high in cost and high in labor intensity are solved. The steel pipe scaffold comprises vertical rods in socket-and-spigot joint, adjustable bases are arranged at the lower endsof the vertical rods, U-shaped top supports are arranged at the upper ends of the vertical rods, the vertical rods are provided with connecting discs in a sleeved mode, vertically-through connectingholes are formed in the connecting discs, horizontal rods and inclined rods are arranged between the connecting discs on the adjacent vertical rods, buckling heads clamped on the upper sides and the lower sides of the connecting discs are arranged at the two ends of the horizontal rods and the two ends of the inclined rods, through holes corresponding to the connecting holes are formed in the buckling heads, and the buckling heads are fixedly connected with the connecting discs through plug pins. The construction period of a box girder can be shortened, material turnover is convenient, the labor intensity of workers is reduced, the work efficiency is improved, the installation precision is high, the construction period is shortened, and the machining cost is saved.
