The invention relates to the technical field of sponge cities, in particular to a sponge city water system which comprises a water collecting layer arranged underground; a water outlet is formed in one side of the water collecting layer; a treatment well is arranged at one side of the water outlet of the water collecting layer; the top and the bottom of the treatment well are open; a well lid is arranged at the open end of the top of the treatment well; the treatment well is communicated with the water collecting layer; a baffle is slidably arranged at the water outlet of the water collecting layer; the treatment well is provided with a moving assembly used for driving the baffle to move in the direction close to or away from the well lid; a filter screen is slidably arranged at the open end of the bottom of the treatment well; a lifting mechanism used for driving the filter screen to ascend and descend in the direction close to or away from the well lid is arranged at the side, close to the top open end, of the treatment well; a clear water layer is arranged below the water collecting layer; and the clear water layer is communicated with the treatment well. The sponge city water system has the effect of facilitating the cleaning of garbage in the water collecting layer.
