The invention discloses a counterweight-free hanging basket suspension system and an installation method. The hanging basket suspension system comprises a suspension mechanism and a suspension platform, wherein the suspension mechanism comprises a horizontal arm rod, a front fixing frame, a rear fixing frame, an upper supporting rod, a rear buried plate and a turn buckle; and the suspension platform comprises a hanging basket, a lifting machine and a working steel wire rope. According to the counterweight-free hanging basket suspension system and the installation method, the wall-straddling type hanging basket can meet the requirement that a roof and an outer wall can be operated in a crossed mode, and the construction period is shortened; the steel consumption of a front arm, a rear arm, a front support and a rear support of the suspension mechanism is greatly reduced, no counterweight is needed, the self weight is light, installation and turnover are simple and rapid, the needed labor is greatly reduced, and the construction cost is reduced; the suspension mechanism is located on a flower frame beam, a tail steel wire rope is tied to the structure and the tail of the horizontal arm rod, the main body structure and the steel wire rope meet the stress requirement, and the safety performance is good; and the counterweight-free hanging basket suspension system and the installation method are suitable for hanging basket erection when the flower frame beam (parapet wall) of the roof with the height of 3-7m or the outer wall and roof engineering of a building needs to be operated in a crossed mode in advance.
