The invention discloses an anchor cable supporting structure for a foundation pit and a construction method thereof. The anchor cable supporting structure comprises a plurality of anchor cable supporting pieces, wherein each anchor cable supporting piece comprises an anchor hole and a pre-stressed anchor cable body, one end of each pre-stressed anchor cable body is fixedly connected with the corresponding anchor hole, the other end of each pre-stressed anchor cable body extends out of the corresponding anchor hole and is connected with an anchor backing plate, the anchor bearing plates abut against the side wall of the foundation pit, and the side wall of the foundation pit has the structural strength for supporting the anchor bearing plates. The construction method comprises the steps that the foundation pit is excavated in a layered mode, and protection is performed along with excavation every layer, that is, construction of one layer of anchor cable supporting pieces is completed after each layer is excavated. According to the anchor cable supporting structure, on the premise that the side wall of the foundation pit has enough structural strength, supporting of the foundation pit is achieved through the anchor cable supporting structure, the supporting construction period is short, materials and labor are few, supporting is stable, follow-up dismantling is not needed, and good economical efficiency is achieved.
