The invention discloses an earth excavation method for foundation pit groups with different depths on two sides of an operation subway. A deep foundation pit and a shallow foundation pit are arranged on the two sides of the subway respectively. The earth excavation method comprises the following steps that the bottom elevation of the shallow foundation pit serves as a depth boundary, and the deep foundation pit is divided into a shallow area higher than the depth boundary and a deep area lower than the depth boundary; earth excavation is carried out on the shallow foundation pit and the shallow area of the deep foundation pit, earth in the shallow area of the shallow foundation pit and the shallow area of the deep foundation pit is horizontally partitioned, and block-by-block, layered and relative excavation is carried out in the direction from the position away from the subway to the position close to the subway; and earth excavation is carried out on the deep area of the deep foundation pit, horizontal partitioning is carried out on the deep area with the shallow area as the standard, and block-by-block and layered excavation is carried out in the direction from the position away from the subway to the position close to the subway.
