The construction method comprises the following steps that S100, a plurality of water stop piles are installed in the circumferential direction of the foundation pit; S200, a plurality of first bottom sealing piles and a plurality of second bottom sealing piles are installed at the bottom of the foundation pit, and the first bottom sealing piles are located on the peripheries of the second bottom sealing piles; and S300, open caisson side walls are installed on the first bottom sealing piles. By applying the construction method for reinforcing the deep and thick silt stratum open caisson foundation pit, the phenomena of mud gushing and sand flowing in the sinking process of an open caisson can be reduced.
