The invention relates to a method for calibrating an orientation/position sensor; the invention relates to a method, by means of which the orientation/position of a component of equipment of a mobile working machine can be detected, comprising the following steps: selecting at least two orientations/positions of the equipment component and predetermining the distance between the at least two orientations/positions; identifying at least two orientations/positions of the equipment component independently of the orientation/position sensor; determining a calibration parameter for the orientation/position sensor from the signals emitted by the orientation/position sensor in the at least two orientations/positions of the equipment component and a predetermined distance of the at least two orientations/positions.
