The invention discloses a deceleration strip and a deceleration strip control method. The deceleration strip comprises a rubber shell, wherein the upper surface of the rubber shell is provided with an extrudable area and a light-transmitting area; a rechargeable light-emitting assembly which comprises an LED lamp bead packaged in the light-transmitting area; an electric energy conversion device which is arranged in the rubber shell and electrically connected with the rechargeable light-emitting assembly, wherein the electric energy conversion device is provided with a first extrusion face located below the extrusion area, and when the first extrusion face is extruded, mechanical energy is converted into electric energy so as to charge the charging display lamp. According to the deceleration strip, a driver of a vehicle which is about to pass through the deceleration strip is effectively reminded that the deceleration strip exists in front, so that the driver makes a response (deceleration driving and the like) in advance, electric energy self-supply is achieved, and a power supply circuit connected with the outside and an external power supply do not need to be additionally arranged for supplying electric energy.
