The ferrite wave-absorbing material has a molecular formula of Co1-xNixFe2O4 (x= 0, 0.1, 0.3 or 0.5). The preparation method comprises the following steps: by taking analytically pure cobalt oxide (Co(OH)2), iron oxide (Fe2O3) and nickel carbonate (NiCO3) as raw materials, weighing samples according to the stoichiometric ratio of experimental components, and putting the weighed samples into an agate ball milling tank; determining the mass of the weighed sample, weighing a certain amount of agate beads, and putting the agate beads into an agate ball-milling tank for ball-milling and uniform mixing; adding alcohol is added to submerge all samples and exceed about 1-2 mm, and providing a lubricated environment; placing a sample obtained after ball milling is completed in a drying box to be dried for 16-24 h, and separating materials and agate beads out through a screen, wherein the particle size of the sample prepared through the method reaches the nanometer level. The ferrite wave-absorbing material with the mixed spinel structure has a very good microwave absorbing effect in a microwave band of 2-18GHz, is wide in absorbing frequency band, and has the advantages that the preparation process is simple, the preparation process is easy to regulate and control and the like.
