The invention relates to a water stop structure for water conservancy project . The water stop structure comprises a water baffle; a cavity communicating with the water baffle is formed in a vertical dam body; a plurality of water stop plates are embedded in the water baffle and slidably connected with the water baffle; first sliding grooves are formed in the water baffle in the height direction of the water baffle; first sliding blocks and second sliding blocks are embedded in the first sliding grooves and slidably connected with the first sliding grooves; the first sliding grooves are vertically connected with second sliding grooves; third sliding blocks are embedded in and rotationally connected with the second sliding grooves; first connecting rods are rotationally connected to the first sliding blocks; second connecting rods are rotationally connected to the second sliding blocks; the first connecting rods and the second connecting rods are rotationally connected to the third sliding blocks; the upper portions of the first sliding blocks are connected with the lower end faces of the water stop plates in the water baffle; the vertical dam body is provided with water passing pipes below the water baffle; water collecting cylinders are connected to the lower portions of the second sliding blocks; and the water collecting cylinders communicate with the ends, penetrating into the vertical dam body, of the water passing pipes through hoses. The vertical water stop structure has the effect of reducing the risk that flood overflows a vertical concrete structure.
