The invention discloses steel rail grinding equipment which comprises a pair of driving supporting frame and driven supporting frame which are arranged side by side and can walk along a steel rail, and a pair of transmission columns which are arranged side by side and can jointly vertically reciprocate and rotate are transversely connected between the driving supporting frame and the driven supporting frame. A transmission box which is vertically arranged and can transversely reciprocate is connected between the pair of transmission columns, a rotating shaft which is vertically arranged and can rotate is rotationally installed in the transmission box, the two ends of the rotating shaft extend out of the transmission box, the top end of the rotating shaft is in transmission connection with a first driving device which drives the rotating shaft to rotate, and the bottom end of the rotating shaft is sleeved with a grinding wheel; the driving supporting frame is further provided with a programmable controller connected with the first driving device, the transmission box and the transmission column and a power supply box electrically connected with the programmable controller. The steel rail grinding equipment solves the technical problem of how to automatically polish the steel rail in a quality-guaranteeing mode, and has the advantages of being low in manual labor intensity, high in polishing efficiency, convenient to use, capable of effectively guaranteeing the polishing quality and the like.
