The steel rail grinding equipment comprises a vehicle frame, a storage battery, a dustproof chip blocking device, a frame body, a control system, a transverse movement driving mechanism, a first transverse movement assembly, a second transverse movement assembly and a grinding unit. A wheel pair used for running and supporting the whole vehicle is arranged below the vehicle frame, and the storage battery, the control system and the frame body are all arranged above the vehicle frame. The grinding unit is arranged in the frame body, and the dustproof chip blocking device is arranged on the frame body. The first transverse moving assembly and the second transverse moving assembly are arranged between the frame and the polishing unit and form a transverse moving kinematic pair. The transverse movement driving mechanism is arranged between the frame body and the grinding unit, and the grinding unit can be driven by the transverse movement driving mechanism to move transversely relative to the frame.
