The peripheral face grinding unit can utilize the outer peripheral face of a rotating disc-shaped grinding wheel to grind the rail face of the steel rail. The circumferential surface of the disc-shaped grinding wheel is used for grinding special structural parts such as turnout switch rails, point rails and wing rails, the end surface of the round-cup-shaped grinding wheel is used for grinding common structural parts with fixed turnout rail surface width and large transverse space, the respective advantages of the circumferential surface grinding unit and the end surface grinding unit are exerted, combined grinding operation is conducted on the steel rails in the whole turnout area, and the grinding efficiency is improved.
