Embodiments of the invention provide a water sump cleaning device, comprising a sump cleaning robot, a coal slime conveying pipeline and a post-processing system. The sump cleaning robot is used for being arranged in a first water sump to collect coal slime; the two ends of the coal slime conveying pipeline are respectively connected with the sump cleaning robot and the post-processing system, so that the coal slime can be conveyed to the post-processing system from the sump cleaning robot; the post-processing system comprises a processing mechanism and a conveying mechanism; the processing mechanism is used for filter pressing of the coal slime; and the conveying mechanism is used for conveying the coal slime subjected to filter pressing. The water sump cleaning device can replace manual work to automatically clean the water sump. The embodiments of the invention further provide a using method of the water sump cleaning device.
