The invention discloses a pile sinking method for a steel pipe pile in the field of building construction. The pile sinking method for the steel pipe pile aims to improve the pile sinking effect after hammering. The pile sinking method for the steel pipe pile comprises the following steps of S100, integrally hoisting a pile sinking process assembly for the steel pipe pile comprising a process flange; S200, hoisting the pile sinking process assembly for the steel pipe pile on a pile top flange of the steel pipe pile to enable an inner ring part to be in butt joint with the pile top flange; S300, fixedly connecting the inner ring part with the pile top flange, and starting a pile hammer to hammer the process flange; and S400, dismantling the process flange from the pile top flange after hammering is completed. By applying the pile sinking method for the steel pipe pile, the pile sinking effect after hammering can be remarkably improved.
