The invention provides a simulated thatch and a manufacturing method thereof. The simulated thatch comprises a net body and a plurality of whisker bundles, wherein the net body is provided with meshes which are uniformly distributed along the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction and penetrate through the net body, a connecting parting strip is arranged between every two adjacent meshes, the whisker bundles are inserted in the meshes between the upper edge and the lower edge of the net body, each beard bundle comprises a common top end and more than one beard strip connected to the common top end, the common top ends extend out of the meshes close to the upper edge, and all the beard bundles cover the net body. The structure of the whisker bundles inserted in the net body is improved, the whisker bundles and the net body are fixed through friction force, one end of each whisker structure does not need to be fixed in the mode that the whisker structures are wound on a sheet-shaped body or fixed by additionally arranging a clamping piece, the insertion efficiency of the whisker structures is improved, the processing technology of the simulated thatch can be simplified, and the production cost is reduced.
