The invention relates to sewage cleaning, in particular to a municipal water collecting tank. The municipal water collecting tank comprises an inlet water filtering component, a sunshade component, a water wheel adjusting transmission assembly, a waste storage box, a filtering component and a water inlet cleaning assembly, so that the municipal water collecting tank can prevent sunshine from reducing growth of aquatic algae plants and the like during use; water can be filtered by utilizing potential energy of water at the water outlet, and filtered matters are collected; and the surface blockage of the water inlet is cleaned at a proper time through the change of the water flow speed at the water outlet, so that equipment automation is optimized and maintenance resources of workers are reduced.
