Method for preparing hard metal carbide coating on graphite surface
The invention discloses a method for preparing a hard metal carbide coating on the surface of a graphite material. The method comprises the following steps: embedding a graphite material into a mixed salt bath taking borax as base salt, conducting heating to a molten state, and carrying out a preparation reaction of the coating; and after reacting for a period of time, taking out a graphite sample, quenching the graphite sample to room temperature, cleaning residual salt on the surface of the sample, and carrying out drying so as to obtain a compact wear-resistant metal carbide coating on the graphite surface. The method is used for surface densification modification of various carbon-containing materials, a preparation process is simple, equipment requirements are low, and cost is low. The prepared metal carbide coating has extremely high hardness, excellent wear resistance and excellent corrosion resistance; and the method is widely applied to various complex and severe environments and related special application conditions including aerospace engineering and severe marine environments.
