The method comprises the following steps: a lawn layer and a planting soil layer of a field are dug away and the muck is removed; slope forming and modeling are conducted on the site, and the site is compacted; a drainage system is manufactured on the site; a plastic water seepage soft base layer is laid on the site; the site is finely leveled; artificial turf is laid on the field; and the artificial turf is filled with a stable filler and a performance filler. The construction method has the advantages of being high in efficiency, good in drainage and low in hardness, the field surface drainage function is achieved through the plastic permeable soft base layer, the base layer seepage drainage function is achieved through the blind ditches, the water guiding and drainage function is achieved through the drainage blind pipes, and the field has the high drainage capacity; therefore, the football field construction method can still be used in a field under the condition of medium and light rain, the problems that an existing construction method is low in efficiency, poor in drainage and too large in hardness are solved, and the requirement for football field transformation is met.
