The invention relates to a fish trough stone ecological revetment and a construction method thereof.The fish trough stone ecological revetment is constructed according to the following steps: S1, after plane positions and elevations of fish trough stones are determined, pouring concrete protection feet at the slope bottom of a river bank along the river bank; S2, laying an inverted filter layer for preventing soil loss of the river bank on the slope surface of the river bank; S3, laying geotextile on the surface of the inverted filter layer; S4, hoisting the fish trough stones: hoisting the fish trough stones on the concrete protection feet, wherein the adjacent fish trough stones are connected and fixed to form fish trough stone belts; the fish trough stones are hoisted above the fish trough stone belts to form a next layer of fish trough stone belt; the fish trough stone belts are distributed along the slope surface of the river bank in a stepped manner; and S5, filling the fish trough stones with pebbles, laying geotechnical cloth on the pebbles in the fish trough stones, and then filling the geotechnical cloth with planting soil, wherein the planting soil filling the fish trough stones does not exceed the upper surfaces of the fish trough stones. The fish trough stone ecological revetment constructed by the method can prevent two sides of the riverway from being scoured, provides living space for organisms in the riverway, and achieves the dual purposes of ecological restoration and slope protection.
