The invention discloses a preparation method of calcium carbonate fiber for improving the performance of a cement-based composite material. The method comprises the following steps of S1, mixing calcium carbonate and absolute ethyl alcohol according to a weight ratio of 1: 2, and cleaning, filtering and drying calcium carbonate powder; S2, mixing calcium carbonate and acetic acid according to a weight ratio of 5: 10, stirring for 20 minutes at 100-120 r/min, uniformly mixing to obtain a mixture, and standing for 2 hours to obtain a mixture solution A ((CH3-COO)2Ca solution); S3, adding 40 parts by mass of citric acid and the mixture solution A ((CH3-COO)2Ca solution) according to a weight ratio of acetic acid to citric acid of 1: 1, stirring for 30 min at a speed of 100-120 r/min, uniformly mixing, and making the pH value tend to be stable, thereby obtaining a mixture B; S4, mechanically stirring the mixture B in a constant-temperature water bath of 70 DEG C at 100-120 r/min for 10 min, adding 0.5-1 wt% of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate, continuously stirring for 30 min to obtain a milk white liquid C, and drying the milk white liquid C in a constant-temperature drying box of 100 DEG C to obtain a dry gel D; and S5, calcining the dry gel D in a muffle furnace of 600 DEG C for 2 hours to obtain the calcium carbonate fiber.
