The process comprises the following steps of measuring and setting out, specifically, performing division measurement in a single direction according to the size of a floor tile and a ground elevation; leveling keels, specifically, determining a keel leveling thickness according to the ground elevation, a floor tile thickness and a keel thickness, and carrying out leveling layer construction, wherein the keels are square pipes; installing the keels, specifically, continuously laying the keels on a leveling layer, wherein the keels are parallel to one another; spreading mortar, specifically, after pouring the mortar, scraping the mortar by using a floating rule, wherein the length of a scraping tooth section of the floating rule is the same as the width of the floor tile, and the tooth depth of the scraping tooth section is the same as the thickness of the floor tile; and laying the floor tiles: laying the floor tiles on the mortar layer, and compacting the floor tiles. Compared with the prior art, the floor tile laying process has the advantages that the process is greatly simplified, the elevation control is conducted through keels, traditional mortar and plumbing processes are replaced, and the reliability is good; the floating rule is adopted to scrape the mortar, so that the efficient and fast effect is realized; and the floor tile laying elevation control is good in accuracy, leveling and checking only need to be conducted once in the whole process, and thus the construction efficiency is high.
