The method is characterized in that the V-shaped probe groove with a certain width is excavated in an area where pipelines are possibly distributed by using a sand pump dredger to detect the underwater pipeline, the excavation section of the V-shaped probe groove is V-shaped, the minimum excavation volume can be ensured, and the designed elevation of the probe groove is 1-2m higher than the designed elevation of dredging construction; during excavation of the probe groove, a diver carries out underwater detection on the probe groove layer by layer, and if the pipeline is detected, the specific position and the elevation of the pipeline are accurately measured so as to carry out next-step treatment; and if the pipeline is not detected, it is proved that no pipeline exists above the dredging design elevation, dredging construction is not affected, and dredging equipment can be arranged for construction. The construction method is not affected by an external environment, the material and size of the pipeline and the burying depth of the pipeline, the detection result precision is high, the quality and efficiency improvement effect is remarkable, the influence of the underwater pipeline on dredging construction is effectively eliminated, and the ship construction safety is guaranteed.
