The invention relates to an assembly type covering heat preservation device for pier mass concrete and a using method. The assembly type covering heat preservation device comprises a cross beam horizontally connected to the upper portion of a concrete side face formwork, and a heat preservation roller shutter which is arranged in the axial direction of the cross beam and telescopically covers the concrete side face formwork. The using method comprises the steps that S1, when mass concrete pouring is conducted, the internal and external temperature difference of concrete is obtained; S2, the temperature difference is compared with a first preset value, and when the temperature difference is not greater than the first preset value, S3 is conducted; and S3, the heat preservation roller shutter extends to cover the outer wall of the concrete. The internal and external temperature difference of the concrete can be reduced.
